President John F. Kennedy did not obviously do anything for the Civil Rights movement, however his actions during that time had long term consequences.
Eleanor Roosevelt (wife of a president), was very politically active. This site gives a good overview of her beliefs and actions. Booker T. Washington was a very influential black leader. A summary of his life and links to specific documents is presented in this site. |
